Dell 7841 Shoot It VG-
By Paul Tyner
There were gazillions of versions of this story published in the late 1960s. Life Magazine called the genre "A new form of American fiction . . . explosive with comedy and pathos . . . laced with the gallows spirit of black humor . . ." More accurately: Laced with sexual encounters, fumbling drug usage, and rebellion against the previous generations' ways of doing things and living life.
On the fringes of this counterculture revolution live Stacy and Herbie. She was a nice girl trying to be bad, and doing it well. He was a young, hip cop, trying to stay straight and square, doing a bad job of it, getting more freaked-out all the time.
First paperback printing, 1970. Clean cover with a long crinkle at the top, and a reading crease. Spine is scrunched at the lower right corner. Pages are off-white, with a tinge of brown. Binding is tight and square.
