Online Auction Description
Anyone looking at this collection has certainly seen all of these movies! But movie scripts are condensed to fit within budgets and time-frames. Novelizations tend to expand the story, allowing fuller explanations and deeper character and situation development, thus enhancing the story the movies told.
The photostory books from the first two movies are a couple of special pieces, as they retell the movie in picture form. While the first is in wonderful, crisp color panels, the publisher went cheap on the second, retelling the movie in black and white (unbelievable)!
The comics also simply retell the movie. The first comic - The Motion Picture - may not be obvious, but it's a rather rare paperback (seen at the end of the top row). The other two comics - III's "Search for Spock" and IV's "Voyage Home" - are on the bottom of the full shot.
Oh, and I was tired, thus apparently inattentive to detail, when I set up the shot of all the books with the out of order layout on the bottom novel level. As Webstore is catastrophically limited in their picture allotment, you can see all my pics at http://s99.photobucket.com/user/reinst8ed/library/Star%20Trek/TOSMP
Each of these publications are 1st printings, and are in pretty good to excellent (unread) condition. I've noted any serious issues after each book.
