M-123 Altar On Asconel + Android Avenger GOOD
The Altar On Asconel
By John Brunner
Cover by Gray Morrow
The Warden of Asconel had four sons. When he died and the eldest succeeded him, the remaining threesome agreed that, for the good of their planet, they should leave it, thus preventing any organized conspiracies based around the possibility of one or more of the princes taking over the throne.
Spartak went to a monkish university and immersed himself in the study of the past. Paying no attention to the present, he was shaken out of his rut when violence-prone brother Vix arrived at the door and announced that it was time to go home. The Warden had fallen under the spell of an alien witch-woman, and his subjects were being ordered to worship an extraplanetary "god." Now their brother is dead, and with all of the legal successors off-world, disaster threatens the fair Asconel.
By Ted White
An average, sane man suddenly finds his body capable of extraordinary physical feats. He can climb a flight of stairs in a second, and run 40 miles per hour!
Has his brain been placed in an artificial body? Or was he always an android? If so, to whom does he owe his loyalty?
Covers are clean with corner wear and LOTS of crinkles. Spine is wrinkly. Corners at one end beginning to split. Page are off-white. Binding is broken at page 91 of Avenger.
