All along the stage line from Alamosa to Durango, the word was out:
Ollie Dutton had raised the $10,000 to buy the Katydid Mine, and he was
carrying it on the stagecoach. Everybody knew, including Ollie, that he
stood to have it taken from him by the powerful Syndicate.
What Ollie didn't know was that the Syndicate had hired his
ex-partner, Bronc Killion, to hunt Ollie down. Bronc, now turned killer
and outlaw, hated Ollie for stealing his girl.
And the girl was also on the stage!

In the opinion of the Big Basin folks, Jake Harper and his three sons
never amounted to a barrel of shucks. So when the old man was strung up
for rustling beef, it was considered a blessing all around.
Only thing was, now that Old Man Harper was stilled, his cubs kept
