D-421 Dr Futurity / Slavers of Space VG
By Philip K. Dick
Cover by Ed Valigursky
It begins with an "impossible" accident on a computer-controlled freeway. The physician-victim awakens in the future, a future of genetic manipulation and a contempt for life that would put the chicoms to shame. Dr. Jim Parsons becomes involved in the arcane politics of future Earth, which are immensely complicated by the fact that at least two factions have developed real time travel. Then comes a side jaunt to the 16th century, then another to the end of time. One of PKD's best, and most often-ignored, efforts.
Slavers Of Space
By John Brunner
Cover by Ed Emshwiller
There were robots and there were androids. A man of quality and wealth like Derry Horn could have either for the purchasing. The robots were fine, if you liked a machine that could talk and do your bidding exactly, but in some ways androids were even better.
Those blue-skinned creations, boiled out of some far planet's chemical vats, were very realistic. They conversed intelligently, did as they were told, and might almost be mistaken for people. Except for that blue skin!
Then one night, right in the middle of a carouse, Derry discovered that the androids were far more human than anyone suspected. And it was a secret which could be worth his life!
Coversare clean and bright, maybe a touch less bright than when they were new. Pages are light tan. Spine and binding are excellent
