NMT or better actual Pass Out Check for the NFL 1963 World Championship Game between the Bears & NY Giants -- back is blank.
I believe that a few years ago Topps Cards offered these and other tickets as box toppers when you purchased a complete box.
12/29/1963 at Wrigley Field the Bears won 14-10 led by their Defense known as the Monsters of the Midway the 1963 Bears held their opponents to a then-league record low 144 points and finished 11-1-2 to win the Western Conference, twice beating Vince Lombardi's defending champion Green Bay Packers. By contrast, the Giants' strength was their offense--in particular, the passing of veteran quarterback Y.A. Tittle. Stopping Tittle was the Bears' game plan. Some of their work was done for them--at kickoff the temperature was 9 degrees at Wrigley Field, not conducive to wide-open offense.
Morris, who would be named the game's most valuable player, delivered a literal, blow to the Giants when he broke in on Tittle and hit him in the knee with his helmet just as the quarterback threw. From that point on he was much less effective although he played limping, gimpy and bloody through out the game with a never say die attitude -- and along with Dan Marino is noted as the greatest quarterbacks to never have won a championship. This gfame wasn't over until the final 10 seconds when Ritchie Pettibon intercepted a Tittle pass in the end zone to preserve the Bears win. (Last Bears Championship until 1985)
