Pyramid X-1657 ONE AGAINST THE LEGION Good
One Against The Legion
By Jack Williamson
Cover by Jack Gaughan
It has been several years since the Legion of Space beat back the attack of the Cometeers and their human allies. The Solar System is at peace, except for occasional outlaws like Chan Derron.
Derron, once a trusted member of the Legion, was wrongly accused of murdering the System's greatest scientist and stealing his amazing new invention. He escaped confinement and has been travelling space in his small ship, deaperately seeking a way to prove his innocence.
When an archvillain calling himself "The Basilisk" initiates a reign of terror - kidnapping wealthy and famous people, stealing treasure out of locked vaults, and causing taunting notes to appear on government desks, "everyone knows" that this must be Derron at work, utilizing the stolen invention.
Chan knows it is NOT he. If he can track down "The Basilisk," he has a chance of clearing his name. But he must do it alone, with forces of both good and evil arrayed against him.
This edition also includes an ancillary novelette starring Giles Habibula, Nowhere Near.
