For those of you that like to build your own cornhole boards, but are not sure how to make cornhole boards, we offer an unfinished Slimline Board Set, which you can finish as you like. Building cornhole boards can be fun and enjoyable, but playing the cornhole game is the goal. Why not a little bit of work on your cornhole boards and get to playing faster with an unfinished set of boards. Some pictures shown are painted boards to illustrate design features. The boards offered in this listing are not painted.
The Board Set is assembled and sanded, ready for you to complete. We have attached the legs and the snap straps, which easily come off so you can stain or paint to complete the boards. We use a slotted bolt and aviation nut to attach the legs, instead of a carriage bolt and wing-nut. If you have worked with carriage bolts, you know that they become loose when tightening and can strip out the wood. With our slotted bolts, you can attach and remove as many times as needed. When assembling our boards, we glue and pin nail everything together, so you will have small nail holes to fill as part of your finishing process. When painting, we usually prime first, then fill the nail holes a couple of times, spot prime and apply your finish topcoat paint.
One thing to think about when deciding whether to build your own boards is do you have the right tools? We use a table saw, router, planer, sander, miter saw, biscuit jointer, drill press, various jigs, pin nailer, a drill and a hole saw. A 6" hole saw alone, costs arounf $40. Why not let us take care of the hard part and you do the finishing?
Our Slimline Cornhole Boards are designed with quality construction and portability in mind. Our boards are hand crafted and include mitered corners which are glued and nailed, poplar framing for lighter weight and strength, inlaid 1/2" birch plywood, routered edges, and two back supports to stiffen the boards and create a bag storage compartment. Folding legs for transport mode and aviation nuts which allows how tight you adjust the leg swing. Aviation nuts do not vibrate loose, so you don't have to worry about lost hardware. We also use standard bolts instead of carriage bolts for ease of adjustment. The portable Slimline design measures 5 ½â in depth when boards are attached together, with overall dimensions for two board set at 24â x 48â x 5.5â.
