D-321 Smell of Trouble / Trial by Perjury GOOD
The Smell Of Trouble
By Louis Trimble
Dan Trevor returned home to his job as head of the police night division. He found, to his horror, that:
His chief was dead
He had no job
And he was wanted for murder!
Larry Moon, the new acting Chief of
Police, was convinced that Trevor had committed two killings. All the circumstantial evidence pointed that way. Besides, Larry had it in for Dan personally.
Trial By Perjury
By John Creighton
Dan Kirby had spent seven months in jail for a crime he hadn't committed. This, however, was not the normal case of a bad jury verdict. Kirby had confessed to being the driver of a hit-and-run car, in exchange for ten grand.
Now he was free, only to learn that his wife had absconded with the money, and he had been framed for murder!
It was a vicious trap. If he went to the cops, he would be jailed for perjury. If he went to the big shot who had bought him off before, he would be slapped down for blackmail.
And if he did nothing, it meant the chair!
