Lost Loot Of Kittycat Ranch
By Tom West
Spring of 1888 was a hard time for American cowboys, The previous winter had been a nightmare, a succession of blizzards that had wiped out millions of cattle and made cowpokes an endangered species. Bill Murray considered himself lucky to have a job raking out the livery stable in Bitter Creek,
One day, a sheriffâs deputy dropped by to tell him about the Kittycat Ranch, out in the shadows of the Black Kaweahs. The way the lawman described it was "Suicide spread craves a hand."
Murray took it, and began to regret his decision almost immediately. This isolated spread seemed to be haunted. Hands were bushwhacked, cattle wandered away. Murray made another decision: he would solve the mystery of this nearly deserted ranch, or die trying!
