My start in oil painting was sort of odd. In 2004, I was in a rather severe car accident in which I received a blow to the head. Prior to the accident, my only art experience was a few college classes. The accident seemed to bring forward the motivation to paint.

A couple of weeks following the accident, I started thinking about oil painting. I had no experience and felt somewhat foolish even attempting it. However, my wife suggested I give it a try. We were both surprised to find out that I had a bit of talent. We concluded that the blow to the head must have knocked lose some hidden talent and motivation to paint.

All of my work is from imagination and, although the it would fall under landscape, it seems to be more than that. I do not paint on canvas, but rather 1/4 harddwood Plywood mounted on a 1 x 2 frame. The boards are coated with Gesso prior to painting. I make my own boards.

Education: B.S & M.S in Psychology from Utah State University. Ph.D in Psychology from the University of Montana.

Experience: Worked as a Psychologist for a variety of Mental Health Centers in the intermountain area of the Rockies, including two State Hospitals and two school districts.

I did maintain a private practice for one year and eventually wound up doing research at Utah State University and teaching at Weber State University.
