Front has the state of Alaska, an inset of "Vegetation and Land Use", inset of the Diomede Islands and inset of the Aleutians; main map at scale of 65 miles to the inch; includes major roads, railroads, cities, most of the Adjacent Yukon Territory of Canada, major rivers, national parks, national forests, national wildlife refuges, and other geographic features PLUS features such as the Woodline, etc.; opposite side has "Top of the World" map with the Arctic and adjacent nations (Norway, Soviet Union, Canada, Iceland, Greenland (Denmark), etc.) plus inset on airline statue miles, great circle routes, etc.

PLUS 2.) Double sided map published by the National Geographic Society, Close-Up: USA Series, The Northwest States, March 1973. Front has the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming; main map at scale of 31.6 miles to the inch; includes major roads, passenger railroads, cities, states, major rivers, national parks, national forests, national wildlife refuges, national grasslands, indian reservations and other geographic features PLUS lots of notes on historical, geographic, etc., sights of interest; opposite side has text and illustrations concerning the "timber, cattle, and the mist from the sea" with more detailed information on each state and its attractions plus detailed maps of "Glacier National Park, Puget Sound, and Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks"; also a "vegetation" map denoting grassland, forest, etc.

PLUS 3.) Wild & Scenic Rivers; Double sided map published by the National Geographic Society, Supplement to National Geographic, July, 1977. Front has the a "waterway" map of the Lower 48 plus the state of Alaska; highlighted in red is the "National Wild & Scenic river system"; Also noted are state scenic river systems, state scenic rivers under study for the national system and other rivers under study for the national system.
