Item Description

VINTAGE Jim Beam Decanter – EXTREMELY RARE

23rd Annual Convention IAJBBSC

July 18 – 23, 1993

“THE JOHN PAUL JONES” U.S. NAVY AND MARINE CORPS SHIPS DECANTER

Genuine WADE Porcelain

Pusser’s Ltd. ~ British Virgin Islands, West Indies

Handcast & Hand Decorated

Made in England

This gorgeous cobalt blue decanter is adorned with four paintings depicting US Navy & Marine history. It is ringed on the lower neck with assorted flags from U.S. history as well. Around the lower circumference of the decanter are the Latin phrases “MARE MERIDIES ATLANTICUM”, “MARE INDICUM”, “MARE SEPTENTRIO PACIFICUM”, “MARE MERIDIES PACIFICUM”, “OCEANUS ARCTICUS” and “OCEANUS ANTARCTICUS”. My Latin is long forgotten but I assume that these relate to the Oceans of the World. The stopper is inscribed, in gold, with a map of the United States, Hawaii and Alaska with the words “INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF JIM BEAM BOTTLE & SPECIALTIES CLUBS”. This is a ships decanter: A ships decanter is marked by its’ very wide base and shallow height and therefore creating a very low center of gravity for stability at sea and on land.

Handcast by Wade, there were ONLY 450 made with the Cobalt Blue stopper and another 450 with a white stopper. There is no denying that these are very hard to find and very rare.

This exquisite Ship’s Decanter has NEVER been used as witnessed by the pristine condition of the cork on the stopper.

Please look at the pictures closely. I describe my items as honestly and accurately as possible, so please ask questions before bidding !

This item will be shipped USPS Priority Mail WITH INSURANCE AND SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION.
