WWII Savings Bond Stamp Album w/4 Stamps c. 1942
Description:
Vintage World War 2 War Savings Bonds Stamp Album - With Four
Twenty-Five-Cent
War Savings Stamps - c. 1942
Maker: U.S. Government Printing
Office, Washington, D.C.
Features: Here's a great old U.S.
War Bonds Stamp Album from WW II. This little
album is designed to hold 75 Twenty-Five-Cent War Savings
Stamps. With this book you
could support the war effort with as little as twenty-five cents - one
thin quarter!
Here's how it worked: You got your album at the
Post Office at no charge with the purchase of one, or several, War
Savings Stamps. You put the stamps in your album. When you
filled the album - 75 stamps - you took it to the Post Office and
traded it in for a $25.00 War Savings Bond. The value
of the 75 stamps was $18.70, and the bond cost $18.75. The
bond matured in ten years. Pretty cool!
The owner of this little album didn't get very far
- there are only four stamps in it.
Size: 3 x 6 1/8 inches. 14 pages.
Age/Era: 1942, WW II
Condition:
Stamp album is completely intact, 4 stamps on first page, light creasing
at top and bottom corners
