Midway was the pivotal battle for the American forces fighting in the Pacific against the Japanese. It was also the first battle filmed in color. Scenes included show the action at sea and the tracking down of the remaining Japanese fleet

In an objective, unsentimental manner this film documents the Army’s wartime efforts in 1943. Detailed are scenes of Patton’s Seventh Army as it marches through Sicily and then up the spine of Italy under General Mark Clark, where it encounters stiff resistance by German troops. Also highlighted is the collapse of Mussolini, and events in the Pacific theater
