Vintage Noritake Porcelain Toki Kaisha Sugar Bowl Pink Roses

This elegant handled sugar bowl is made of fine translucent porcelain and is similar to the Rosemont pattern but lacking the laurel border. The front and back of the sugar bowl have a large transfer design of a pink rose with a bud at the side and foliage. The flattened top edge of the bowl is a delicate light grey color with the center left white and decorated with molded stylized leaves and a fancy finial. The fancy handles are curled at the top and have a molded leaf terminal at the bottom. The handles are lined on the edges and down the center with gold. The sugar bowl is accented with lustrous gold.

It is marked on the bottom with an "N" inside a scroll and "Noritake" in script above with "Nippon Toki Kaisha" below. It was probably made in the late 1940's or 1950s.

Measurements: Ample, about 3½" (11.4cm) tall to the top of the finial x 5" (12.5cm) in diameter across the flat top x 3¼" (8cm) in diameter across the foot.

Condition: Very nice, it doesn't look like its been used much if at all. There is a tiny darker spot on the gold line around the outer edge of the grey area, but I think it was made that way.
