Item Description
Beautiful hand-blown glass owl in pristine condition from Altaglass. There are no chips or cracks and the original label is affixed to the bottom, as well as hand etching stating "Altaglass, Medicine Hat Canada" with also what looks as the maker's initials 'TT'. Altaglass was manufactured in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada from 1950 to 1988. They were creations of whimsical and decorative art glass pieces, such as animal figures, vases, bowls, candy dishes, ashtrays and paperweights. According to the markings and label used on this piece, it dates to mid-50's to early 60's. The owl stands 4 inches high and measures 3 inches at its widest point. The base is 2 1/8 inches wide.
