  CONDITION: It is in wonderful condition.

• MEASUREMENTS : It measures 11 inches long.

• DESCRIPTION : This is a very nice Victorian era glove stretcher by Fownes Brothers Company Inc. Fownes was founded in 1777 in England and later moved to Amsterdam, NY in the early 20th century. Women wore several types of gloves at different times of day in the Victorian era and many of the gloves were close fitting. That is why they needed glove stretchers to open the fingers wider to be able to put them on easier. This stretcher is made of maple wood and has a metal " spring" used to open the stretcher.
