Up for bids is an annual advertising booklet for
Vicks, a longstanding Canadian company that manufactures and distributes many
over-the-counter medicines.
This booklet is from 1949 and is in very good
condition with no rips, tears, writing, loose pages or moisture damage. It is
5.25x7.75 inches in dimension and has 32 pages.
The booklet advertises the whole array of the Vicks
line - such as Vicks Vaporub, Vicks Va-Tro-Nol, Vicks Medicated Cough Drops,
Vicks Inhaler and Vicks Vaporub Steam.
The almanac portion of the booklet presents the usual
sort of stuff, tables on weights, measures, astrology important dates in
history, moon phases, wedding anniversaries, birthstones and so on.
Also included is a story on dream interpretation, a
list of Stanley Cup winners, calendars and weather forecasts. It all makes for
fascinating reading and is a nice collectible for anyone interested in patent
medicines.
