VINTAGE SOLID MAPLE 8 DRAWER DESK AND CHAIR
Early 1950'S

This solid maple desk and chair set is from the early 1950's. It has 8 drawers, however the lower two drawers on the right side is really one very large (deep) drawer for legal files. This is a very solid desk and heavy. The chair is very comfortable, is also very sturdy and has the original steel buttons on its leg bottoms for easy sliding.
The desk could use a re-finishing, there is a somewhat deep scratched area approx. 2" x 2" on the top left (could be sanded out) and the front of the desk shows plenty of wear. The chair also shows plenty of scratches from normal use, none deep. There are also ink stains inside some of the drawers, normal for that era as the ball-point pen hadn't been invented yet. Finally, one of the slats that make the top shows slight separation about a foot long and needs some glue (back left side of top). Scroll Down for more photos!
