Following World War II, the United States occupied Japan from 1945 to 1952, during this time the United States helped to restore Japanâs economy by setting up an agency to encourage and control the exporting of goods from Japan to the United States. Items exported from Japan were marked or labeled âMade In Occupied Japanâ, âOccupied Japanâ or âMade In Japanâ most commonly in black or red ink although the color of the ink has no significant meaning
