As a seller it's important to update the current status of items purchased in order to keep your buyer informed on what is going on with their purchase. There are a few areas where a seller has the ability to update the status of an item to reflect it's paid status, transaction status, and even enter tracking information for packages that have shipped.
Note: keeping an item's status up-to-date is important, but should not be considered a substitute for good communication with the buyer through the Webstore Message Board. It is always good to communicate with your buyers to inform them of how/when the processing of their order is being handled.
In your Members Area, on your Items Sold page, you'll notice that each item sold has status box with two sections: - The first section describes an item's Paid Status
- The second section describes the overall Transaction Status
The following describes how this status box can be used to update the status of an item.
Paid Status:
Options: When a buyer pays with a direct payment method such as Paypal and/or Google Checkout, this section get's automatically set to PAID. When a buyer pays for an item using any other method, it is your responsibility as the seller to manually mark this payment as received by setting the payment status to PAID.
Transaction Status:
Options: - Processing
- Posted / Sent
- Delayed
- Problem
- Seller Cancelled
- Non-Paying Bidder
Shipment Tracking Information:
As an additional option, to the right of each sold item which has been marked paid is a link titled "Enter Tracking Info". Clicking this link will popup a box where you can enter carrier information as well as the tracking number used in shipping the package (if available). Once this information has been entered, both seller and buyer may use the resulting "Track via ..." link to track an items progress. |
