Hello my name is KAN and welcome to my
page.
HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE LAND
OF A THOUSAND SMILES:
Although I am somewhat new to Internet selling I will do my best to
describe my items as they are. All I ask is give me a try you will not be
disappointed I can assure you.
My Family have compiled a wealth of unique
treasures, antiques and artworks from Asia especially Chinese antiques with a
fantastic and mysterious history from travels. Japan, China, Thailand, Bali,
Tibet, Cambodia, Taiwan, Burma and Vietnam.
Many of my items have been from years of
collecting and accumulating from estates, private collections and contacts here
in Asia. Some of my items are now for sale due to our house being over
full/loaded plus I have 2 rooms at the rear of my house also full. Many items
have been in my family for many years rather than leaving them all boxed up. I
would rather sell them on for your pleasure of displaying them in your home,
office, Retail Business etc.
  
You also will find on my auction pages some unusual objects/Items
not normally associated with Antiques for instance Gold & Diamond Jewelry,
brand name watches, Stamps and a variety of other non related antique items
which makes this unique from other sellers
Due to the fact 1 of my family members is a
Pawnbroker which is why I will be offering the above mention extra items to my
sales.

Traditional
Thai Puppet Theatre (Joe Louis) : The history of Thai puppets goes back about
300 years. The art of Hun Lakorn Lek (which means small puppet performance) has
been revived by artist Mr. Sakorn Yangkhiawsod, also known as Joe Louis.
Different from other traditional Thai puppets, the Joe Louis puppet play is
performed in a special way in which three manipulators control the movement of one puppet.
Today his troup is the only one in Thailand, that still performs this wonderful
and unique kind of puppet play. For more information,

History
The earliest historical evidence that mentions the puppet
performance in Thailand is a foreign account written by Bishop Tachard, an envoy
of Louis XIV of France, who visited Ayutthaya in 1685. Additional evidence
noting about Thai puppet show is a record made by a French Minister Simon de la
Loubere, who was also sent to Ayutthaya by King Louis XIV in 1707 during the
reign of King Narai. Both written records are considered proxy evidence of the
existence of Thai puppet show, probably originated earlier than the reign of
King Narai or at least 300 years ago.
It is also evident that later during
the reign of King Taksin of Thonburi (1767 – 1782) puppet show continued to be
regularly performed in various royal ceremonies.

Each of these beautiful puppets measures 14.5" tall. Hand Crafted
in Thailand these Burmese style marionettes with gilt, sequins and glass jewels
are true works of art.Traditional Hill Tribe Headdress, hand made in the
villages of Northern Thailand by skilled craftsmen. The head/Hands/Feet are made
from wood.
His neck, arms and legs can move by the rope.
Material is
teak wood and the clothes decoration is handmade.
