| This is a German bisque head doll made by Armand Marseille circa 1890-1930. The mold number is 1896. The body is made of leather (some repairs to the body) gusseted at knees and buttocks with cloth lower legs. The arms are replacements, the clothes are vintage and NOT original. The dress is made out of shear floral print with a detached pink underskirt made of nylon or satin. The pink underskirt is torn all over and is not repairable, but can be used as a pattern. The underskirt has lace applied to the the top and this lace is in good condition and can be removed and applied to a new slip. The wig is a newer replacement.
The dolls head is made of bisque and has a crack across the face (see photo). It is not that noticeable and the hair covers most of the crack. The arms are leather with ceramic replacement lower arms. She has sleep eyes and they are missing some wax. This doll has new socks and shoes. She is marked on the back of her head Armand Marseille 1896. The doll is 20 1/2" tall, her shouderhead is 5" tall ( measured from the bottom of the shoulderplate to the top of the head) and 4 1/4" wide (at the side to side measurement of the shoulderplate). The head circumference is 9 1/2".
This doll is sold AS IS, with no returns. Please keep in mind that this doll is NOT perfect (with cracked head) and replaced arms, but she has a very pretty face and is being sold at an affordable price.
