The Westerner was a short lived, Black and White western that ran in 1960, from September to December. The writer and director of many of the episodes was Sam Peckinpah, in some of his earliest work. Other writers include Bruce Gellar.. It was one of the new mature westerns of the late 50's and early 60's. It features Brian Keith and a host of guest stars.It only lasted 13 episodes but the collaboration between Brian Keith and Peckinpah led to his first job as a feature director. All 13 episodes on 2 DVDs.
