Many of you may perhaps not know this small Broadway factoid, but when an actor leaves a show, he/she is allowed to take their performance shoes with them if they so choose. I made the decision to keep my shoes upon my departure from American Idiot and after "AI's" final performance I would put together an auction where as the winning bidder would have the opportunity to own their own piece of history from this ground-breaking production. Also, I wanted to have all proceeds from the winning bid go to the non-profit organization Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids (BCEFA).
(While individual bids will be posted, the actual individuals' identities will be kept confidential. If the winner so chooses to make their identity known, we will post the winner in the next tonyvincent.com newsletter. We'll even include a picture of you with the boots if you supply us with one! As a bonus, we may throw the St. Jimmy "party-hats" in the shipment for posterity, of course!)
