Item Description
This is a fantastic old quilt from the late 1800's. It has fabrics from the 1860's to the 1880's. There are marvelous fabrics in coppertoned madders, madder browns, rust, red browns, overdyed greens, grey, red, blue, and early purples. The borders are in double pink or cinnamon pink fabric. It is 66 x 86" and has a cotton batting. It is hand quilted with 12 to 14 stitches per inch. The backing is a small floral print (see picture). The only wear is on one brown block that has a small tear in one piece of the pattern. This quilt is in excellent condition and is a marvelous piece of history that has survived for over 120 years. Based on the excellent condition, this quilt has seen very little usage and probably has been preserved in storage for many years.
