Here is an unopened Sew-It-Yourself Rag Toy Kit of a very colorful wood duck from The Toy Works, Inc. The Package has never been opened, so from what is visible, my guess is the completed project would by approximately 15" by 9" I think this kit is from the late 70's. This sew it yourself kit is complete and in the original package.
Info from the back of the package is as follows: THE MUSEUM COLLECTION - The Toy Works has faithfully reproduced this piece from a select collection of 19th Century American Rag Toys. This art form began in 1886 with the introduction of E.S. Peck's Santa (the first commercially produced cloth doll in America), gained popularity with the Arnold Print Work's Tabby Cat in 1892, and revived by The Toy Works in 1974. Our antique reproductions are handprinted on natural fabrics in New York State, employing a sophisticated screening technique to capture the design subtleties of our 19th Century predecessors.
