Item Description
This shell Umbonium vestarium (Linne, 1758) Indo-West Pacific is found in great numbers in shallow bays and they wash up on beaches by the hundreds from Japan to Chek Jawa and south. There are many species of button tops and some are interbreeding....this creates a very diverse gene pool and many color and pattern variations.
This set of shells gives you 10 different colors and designs. These are excellent for the beginning shell collector. The snails who make these shells are very primitive, but interesting to study. None of these shells were mature...they were all juveniles when they died, although 2 or 3 were almost adult. They grow to a little over 1/2 inch across.
