Item Description
This listing is for a beautiful sterling silver
footed bowl. I believe that it may be from Simpson, Hall & Miller. It has
been partially stamped on the back and what I can make out appears to be the
mark of Simpson, Hall & Miller, a plumed knights helmet with an
"S" below.
The rim of this bowl measures approximately
1½" with 4 different patterns, including an inner ring of openwork.
Wonderfully designed, beautifully made. Please use the zoom feature to fully
see the beauty of this bowl.
The bowl stands 2½" and is 8½" across.Weight 9.12 ozt. This bowl is not weighted.
There is no pattern to the footed base, there are NO monograms.
The condition does show wear from use and age of
scratches and a few small dings to the inside. All in all, it is in very good
condition.
Samuel
Simpson began his career in 1829 as an apprentice to Charles and Hiram Yale. In
1866 he formed a partnership with Hall & Miller. In 1898, the firm of
Simpson, Hall & Miller became one of the founding members of International
Silver.
A wonderful investment as well as a beautiful
tablesetting.
