Item Description
This old salt box or kitchen wall box is about as primitive as it gets! The wood is banged and dented and gouged and just really really used and very very OLD and ROUGH ! You either like this stuff or you don't. I love it! I believe it is an antique salt box but it could be used to store almost anything. The wood lid is attached with what appears to be some kind of thick metal wire or hook. It's put together with old nails and the lid does open freely. There is a big hole for hanging. I don't know if this was used in a kitchen or maybe a butcher shop. This wall box measures 9 3/4" across by 7 1/2" wide by 11" at the highest point about the hole for hanging. The box itself is 5" high in the front and 6" high in the back. The wood measures about 1/2" thick. I mean this is really primitive! It weighs almost 5 lbs empty, so shipping will undoubtedly calculate very high. Insurance is mandatory for this item - no exceptions.
