Since there is a lot of waves moving through the air these days, this unit has an Adjustable Pinpoint Sensitivity setting (alerts within 2 feet of an active transmitter). High cell phone activity, stereos, and microwaves will activate the sensors at ranges of 10-20 feet, but adjusting the sensitivity will provide an accurate location of any active transmitter.
