We first met the adorable Pajama Sam when he was learning to overcome his fear of darkness. In this sequel, Sam tackles another worry- thunder and lightning. Trying to meet his fear head on, Sam travels to World Wide Weather headquarters where he meets the not-so-scary characters Thunder and Lightning. While in the company's control room, Sam accidentally pushes a wrong button and messes up the weather machines. His task is to find four missing machine parts and put the system in order before company president, Mother Nature, arrives for inspection. This is no easy job, and children must help Sam find his way in and out of a host of wild contraptions, all while searching for those missing parts. Sam picks up useful objects along the way and uses them to solve all sorts of problems. A crowbar found in one scene, for instance, comes in handy to open a crate in another scene. When all the weather machine parts have been put back in their proper places, Sam has saved the day. Testers loved the program, but found it even more challenging than the first Pajama Sam. The scenery through which Sam travels is more complicated, and it seems harder to remember where you are. Despite the fact that kids got stuck a time or two, they were glued to the screen and found it helpful to work together to solve the program. The graphics and humor are terrific, and the logic problems are tricky but doable. Replay is great as there are six different ways that the machine parts can be hidden, and each adventure takes an hour or two to complete. This one is a true winner!
