Odontocidium Catatante orchid Near Blooming Size, amazing orange flowers

This orchid is Odontocidium Catatante 'Pumpkin Patch.'

It will produce flowers that will just amaze you. This kind of plant always gets oohs and ahs at our shows, and it makes a nice addition to any orchid collection.

It's easy to grow, too, and makes a great starter plant for beginners. It is not in bloom at present.

Mature plants can have 4 to 6 long spikes, covered with pumpkin colored flowers.

This one is a really nice mericlone of an exceptional plant. The breeding is Oncidium Sphacetante x Odontocidium Wildcat.

The flowers are more than an inch across and there can literally be hundreds of them on mature plants. These orchids are blooming size, freshly repotted into 4 inch pots. The plants stand about 12 to 15 inches high already. We think they are likely to bloom within 12 to 18 months, which is our definition of near blooming size. They are not in flower now.

We have a number of these and we'll pick out a nice one for you. We always ship the largest. The pictures show the kind of flowers to expect, and the plants in our greenhouse.

We will ship in the pot. Medium light and water are best, fertilize weakly twice a month. Water when almost dry, but don't allow to dry out completely.
