This type book is often collected since things are in no way as they were then. The opening lines are, "These stories come from across the Pacific, where Filipino authors wrote of the land they know and love so well, and especially of the boys and girls of the Phillipines. Here, life is shown as it was in the Phillipines before December 8, 1941....." This opening is credited at the bottom to the then president Sergio Osmena. All the stories and pictures are geared toward a middle school reader. A few pencil marks but, nothing serious. 84 page, hardback. Worth adding to your library of older stories. Add 2.50 shipping US.
