Item Description
Featured is a vintage 1930's Busy Bridge tin wind-up. This great old toy was made by Louis Marx & Co. It is one of the largest early wind-up toys and is 24" long and 4" wide. The toy stands 8" tall. The wind-up works but is a little rough and often the cars need a little push. The cars are connected to a belt (band) underneath. They get hung up on the opening they are guided on. Very common on this toy. The switch next to the wind-up does function but is random and not functioning every time as it should. The wind-up action does work though. The toy includes a Main Street building on one side and a Main Street terminal on the other. Six tin cars and buses loop in a circle from one end to the other, through the buildings and back around. The toy has both bridge supports and steel cables. It also has all four tin lamp posts, and the center police station. The litho is pretty good. It does show some very old wear. Including some fading, scuffs, scratches and general old wear. There is some seam rust on the sides of the buildings. This is a really great display toy with unique movement, color, and many pieces.
