1976 was a fascinating time for the model/ hobby industry and MPC added to this most exciting decade! This series ran from 1969 to 1979 in conjunction with local custom car shows in 26 cities around the United States. The Best of Show winner was sent to the “Grand National Model Car Championship” that was held each April in Omaha, Nebraska!. This one was held at the “15th Annual World of Wheels” custom auto show from November 25-28, one of the oldest and largest shows of it’s kind in the world.

Model car enthusiasts and builders from the world over would attend these fantastic events and in some cases the number of entries in a given contest could top the ONE THOUSAND mark!
