1997-98 Pre-columbian - Teotihuacan Series Â MEXICO 1997 VASIGA LEY .999 SILVER BU (not a proof)1 ONZA PLATA PURA. The design on this coin is based on a vessel shaped as a seated human figure from this culture. This vessel illustrates many types of human figurines. Their significance is unknown. Although it is believed they were gods or probably high-ranking individuals. This is a a two year type and is presented in Â 1 Oz in 1997 and Â lower mintages again in 1998. This is a one ounce Uncirculated (not a proof) coin. Minted by the Casa de Moneda de México, the national mint of Mexico and the oldest mint in the Americas, established in 1535. Collectors are putting these away as they are becoming more difficult to find! . The 1997 Mintage is 4,500! Krause # 620. Â Comes in a plastic air-tight.There may be some imperfections on the coin.
