1994 Pre-columbian - MAYAN SERIES  MEXICO 1994 LAPIDA TUMBA DE PALENQUE .999 SILVER BU (not a proof)1 ONZA PLATA PURA.This coin illustrates a bas-relief fragment found in the death chamber at the Palenque Inscriptions Temple. This unique pre-Columbian tomb contains a monolithic sarcophagus of approximately 10 feet long. Its a death chamber of a very important Mayan dignitary. Interestly, this image may be familiar to many because it has appeared in books claiming the figure is in a rocket ship and was used to support the notion that UFO's and aliens had influenced the advanced Mayan culture. This is a a one year type and is presented in  1 Oz in 1994. This is a one ounce Uncirculated (not a proof) coin. Minted by the Casa de Moneda de México, the national mint of Mexico and the oldest mint in the Americas, established in 1535. Collectors are putting these away as they are becoming more difficult to find! . The 1994 Mintage is only 4,600! Krause # 575.  Comes in a plastic air-tight.There may be some imperfections on the coin. The one pictured may one you will receive. If you have a question please ask.
