Hi Gina:

Lucky you, these are real nice tone arms and well worth what you are starting the bidding at, IF THE BEARINGS ARE GOOD.

To do a swing test you hold the arm by the pivot end (the part engraved with Lynn Ekos on top) in your hand with the head shell down & let it dangle so as it will swing side to side, give it a gentle tap and it should swing back and forth apoximately 20 or so times before it stops swinging. If it swings a significantly less number of times the bearings are bad. Lynn Ittok and the early Ekos arms (which I assume yours is) have very fragile bearings which are very easy to ruin by improper handling so they are a definite concern on these arms.

Let me know if you have trouble performing this test and I will try to make a utube video of me doing it to one of my arms and I'll email it to you (I'll need your direct email address).
