Item Description
This is lot of two pieces of vintage children's clothing.
First, is a pair of girl's long underwear or skivvies. They are white winter underwear with the tag intact. The tag reads Lackawanna Twins Trade Mark Age 10 Trunk 50. The sleeves measure 16" from the top of the shoulder to the cuff. The item measures about 10 1/2" across the front at the waste. When laid flat it measures about 42" from the shoulder to the bottom of the leg. There is a drawstring at the top neckline to pull it tighter at the neck. There are also 5 buttons down the front and there's a flapper back end on the skivvies as well. I have seen old advertisements from Lackawanna Mills in Scranton, PA, which indicate these were made in the 1920's. I think there may have also been mills in New York but I'm not sure about that. The undergarment appears to be in fabulous condition for its age but I'm sure it could use a good cleaning and I'll leave that to the buyer.
Second, is what appears to be the leggings from a child's snowsuit. There's no tag on these bottoms but they appear to be a wood blend, probably with cotton, but I can't say for sure. They have a zipper at the hip and a zipper at the bottom of each leg just like the bottoms to a child's snow suit. Talon is imprinted on the zipper and on the pull. The back of the snap says United and Carr. There are a few stains on these, but that may come out with a wash.
These are definitely vintage items as kids today wouldn't be caught dead in these!
