The Kinleys: Heather Kinley, Jennifer Kinley (vocals). Recorded at The Music Mill Recording Studio, Nashville, Tennessee. All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology. "Please" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. This Philadelphia duo isn't content to adhere to the C&W party line, even though their gorgeous harmonies alone would ensure their stardom even if they stuck to Nashville-style pap. Instead, singer-songwriters Heather and Jennifer Kinley take a few cues from the city they call home, inserting a touch of pop and soul into their modern country sound for a little added flavor. Before you hurt yourself scowling, be advised: we're not talking Billy Paul with a cowboy hat or anything; just enough of a subtle insinuation of R&B in the rhythms and arrangements of the tunes to keep things interesting. The songwriting and performances are solid throughout, making JUST BETWEEN YOU AND ME a perfect example of the stylistic possibilities available to Country-oriented performers.
