What is it? A
magnetic pad divided into sections of various shapes and sizes. Each
section is labeled accordingly and can be customized by any shop or
field technician.
What does it do? Whether
dismantling a Laptop or Smartphone behind the scenes or in front of a
customer. Magnetically organizing the retaining screws helps the
technician remember where each screw originated. The Gravity Pad will
help ease the customer and inspire confidence knowing that each screw is
secured and wonât get lost.
Why it was developed. After
over a decade of providing on-site computer hardware repair, we felt
there had to be an easier way to dismantle a laptop in front of a
customer without making the customer nervous; I know experienced techs
know what I am talking about. Losing screws or reassembling a customerâs
laptop to find screws left over creates more work for the technician
and possibly an unsatisfied customer. It has helped us tremendously on the go and in the shop when working on an unfamiliar model.
What I like. One
of the things I like the most is being able to stack the Gravity Pad on
top of another since the backside is not magnetic they do not stick
together. This is ideal in a shop when you are waiting on parts and you
really donât want to assemble the unit and have to disassemble it when
the parts arrive. There is enough space to label each pad accordingly
with the make and model of the unit or customer name.
