Gorgeous Rare Duncan Miller Hand Painted Glass Basket with Gold Trim.

According to “Duncan and Miller Patterns, Shapes and Etchings” this basket belongs to #54 Basket shape series. Duncan and Miller made this basket commonly in 4, 5, and 6 six inch sizes, but it may also be found in sizes up to about 9 inches. This pretty basket can be found in transparent colors that are sometimes gold and enamel decorated . The Duncan #54 basket will be marked "PAT'D" in the bottom of the basket.

Our basket is a very beautiful and rare glass basket. It is 7.5 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is a paneled (8 panels)basket with gold trim on the bottom and on the top of the basket. There is also a golden accent at the base of the looped handle. The basket is in mint condition without any cracks or chips. The enameled (fired on)decoration of roses and flowers is pristine, complete and is accentuated with little etchings. In the bottom of the basket you can find the letters 'PAT'D embossed, the tell tale sign of Duncan and Miller glassware. The fact that it has a looped handle is possible an indication that it was made between 1934 and 1955.
