GODDESS BOX ROUND -South American Venezuelan Yecuana Pottery

This is a NEW, round Goddess/Female fertility pattern keepsake/ring box. It is handmade Venezuelan Yecuana pottery and is a nice eye-catching piece! It measures 1.5" high x 2.5" across. There is a depiction of a personage on the lid as you can see, and around the sides are images of the female body, perhaps symbolizing fertility. Hinged with leather.

Yecuana Pottery
Yecuana is the ancient Venezuelan language of the Pemone Indians. Today their Andean descendants make this earthy yet intricate pottery from local clay made of quartz sand. The pottery is decorated with designs from petroglyphs, from native art, and from modern times. The designs are imprinted into the clay then painted with natural oxide paints. Each design is unique.
