Item Description
This auction is for a vintage piece of jewelry that my Mother brought with her from Germany in the mid 1950’s... This set originally belonged to my German Grandmother and was given to my Mother on her wedding day... It is from the late 1940's or possibly before that.
Rhinestone, earrings and broach are in original box.
It's rare to see a 50 + yr. old necklace where All the stones are present, clear and full of sparkle
Large stones are reddish purple and multi-faceted stones have iridescent blues, greens and gold set in silver tone setting.
Necklace: 17” long with adjustable clasp
Largest purple stone 1/2” across
2-stone drop down 1/2” with pale purple stones
Other stones are iridescent multi-colored stones.
Clip on earrings are approximately 3/4” with middle purple stone over 1/4” across.
Broach is over 1 1/8” across
Middle purple stone 1/2” across
Surrounded by light purple stones 1/4” across and smaller multi-colored stones
An antique shop valued this set At $225.00 (that's what they would sell it for).
CONDITION: ~ USED~ Normal Wear... No noticeable deep scratches, cracks, chips or breaks... No noticeable discolored stones... Box has some discoloration from age. NOTE: Since this was not made for export and from the 1940's, it does not state that it was made in Germany.
Used & vintage jewelry, like people, age even if they have led a charmed life. Please look at this piece of jewelry with a realistic eye & understand that you are not shopping in your local department store.
