Item Description
This shell is chicoreus chicoreum (Gmelin, 1791) SW Pacific, and is often called the Endive Murex. This is a fine +2 specimen with well developed spines. The body of the shell has pale orange bands of color over the white.
The shell is nearly 3 1/2 inches from top to bottom and nearly 3 inches wide. This is one of my favorite murexes, but I have a better one so this one needs a new home.
