Being 102 years old, what can I say about these magnificent solid Gold Coins crafted as gorgeous breath taking jewelry cuff links? I can only enhance their Brilliance by adding History to pass on.
I can say, it is Extremely RARE having TWO 1909 $5 Dollar gold pieces of the same exact high quality and purchased together. I can say, Extremely RARE to own such a matched set. I can tell you, these coins have been in my family since my Grandfather and never sold or resold. Upon his passing they remained in the family safe until My Mom had a Master Jeweler add the custom made 14k gold mounts for MY Father for a very special gift. I can tell you, they are in beautiful condition and very rarely worn. I can also say, they are not for everyone.....only the most Discerning of Gentlemen .... only the most Elegant of Women. INTESTING FACTS:
The $5 Indian Head "Half Eagle" coins were commissioned by Teddy Roosevelt and designed by Bela Lyon Pratt. They feature an unusual incuse design (the details are struck into, rather than above, the surface. The obverse features a Native American Chief of unknown name and tribe, while the reverse depicts the proud image of an American bald Eagle. Beneath the eagle's talons is a cluster of arrows and an olive branch-symbolic of war and peace.
