This is a 1992 hard cover book with dust jacket, Dolls: Portraits from the Golden Age, by Pamela Sherer, photographs by Tom Kelley, published by Courage Books.
It is a great coffee table book, oversized and filled with pictures which range in size from perhaps a third of a page to perhaps a page and a quarter, with most being full page. A sample of the pictures can be seen below. They are:
A 38" tall Emile Jumeau equestrienne
Three kewpie dolls, the largest a Kestner
A Bru Jeune et Cie gypsy fiddler
Mein Susser Liebling (My Sweet Darling) from Kammer & Reinhardt
Another Bru bébé doll
All doll pictures are accompanied by identifying text, with a little history. (You didn't really think that I identified those pictures by sight, right?)
The book is nearly pristine, suffering only from a little wear at the bottom, presumably from standing on a shelf. Someone has done a pretty good job of repairing from the inside a short vertical tear at the bottom of the back of the dust cover, going up the spine. My guess is that the buyer would never have known it had I not mentioned it, and even now may need a magnifying glass to see it. The corners are not bumped, the binding is tight, and all 128 pages are present, clean, untorn, and free of dog-ears.
The book is a 12 1/4 inch square, and weighs 2 pounds 10 ounces.
