Coupon/Promo Codes are the electronic equivalent of paper coupons. They can be used by buyers during the self-checkout process to obtain discounts offered by sellers.
Although Coupon/Promo Codes can be tied to individual items (and/or groups of items) in several ways, they are not created during the item listing process, and are in no way part of a listing. Codes are separate entities which can be added, activated, and deactivated by the seller in the "Selling >Coupon/Promo Codes" section of their Members Area and can apply to items already active, or even to be added at a future date.
Codes discount by percentage (not specific dollar amounts). This makes discounts flexible and able to apply to variable priced items.
Coupon/Promo Codes may be used to discount shipping or item price (but not both). Although multiple codes may be used in a single order, only one code may be used per item. If multiple codes may apply to an individual item, the codes will be applied in the order entered by the buyer giving the buyer the choice of how to receive their discounts. |
